This notice covers witnal.com and witnal.app, the public site and the sign-in door. It does not cover evidence recorded inside the Witnal product, where the shop is the data controller; the shop page explains that part in its data section.

Who is responsible: RSE Labs Ltd, the London software studio that builds Witnal, runs this site and is the data controller for what this notice describes. It is company 17175071, registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. The contact page reaches it directly.
What this site collects: The contact form keeps what you type into it: a name if you give one, your email address and your message, together with the time it arrived and which language version you wrote from, held so the message can be answered; answering people who write is our legitimate interest. Your theme choice stays in your browser and never reaches us. The servers this site runs on (Vercel, with the database on Neon) keep the short-lived request logs any host keeps, IP address included.
Cookies, exactly two kinds: Signing in to the app sets one essential cookie, witnal_session, which does nothing but keep your session; consent law does not require asking for it. Analytics cookies are the other kind and exist only after you accept them on the cookie notice.
Analytics, only if you accept: This site asks before measuring; the lawful basis is your consent. Accept on the cookie notice and Google Analytics sets its cookies to count visits and pages, with the data going to Google, which may process it in the United States under its standard safeguards. Decline and nothing is set. Withdraw from the footer and measurement stops, with the analytics cookies cleared.
How long things are kept: A contact message is kept while the exchange it opened needs it and at most a year. Ask for it to be deleted and it is.
Your rights: UK GDPR gives you rights over anything held about you, including access and erasure. Use the contact page; there is no form to fill in beyond writing what you want.
Complaints: If you think this site has handled your data badly, tell us first so it can be fixed. The Information Commissioner's Office takes complaints at ico.org.uk.
